Two women had their wallets stolen in incidents in Woodman’s and Schnucks grocery stores in Janesville according to a JPD news release. Police say a woman and two men were partners in the scheme where one person distracts the victim and another steals their wallet and is a common tactic for groups of traveling thieves. The thieves were wearing masks and hats which makes it difficult to identify the thieves but police do know that they went to Target and Walmart after stealing the wallets because they used women’s credit cards to buy things. Police believe the suspects are driving a Honda minivan with Kansas license plates but police say those plates might be stolen and put on the car to mislead police.
