According to an update from Jefferson County WI Parks, work has begun on the Interurban Trail. Crews are working on Phase I, which includes the trailhead in Watertown east to River Rd. Last week crews did the ground work so that they could start laying the asphalt. This section of the trail should be open by the weekend, and the trail is not to be used until the "Trail Closed" signs are removed. It should also be noted that the shoulder work will not be completed by the weekend, and there will be a sharp drop at the edges of the trail. Phase II of the project is scheduled to begin in a few months, and is weather dependent.
