Whitewater Unified School District Employee Facing Charge of Sexual Assault of a Child

According to a press release from the Whitewater Police Department, on July 22 at about 10 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of E. Clay Street and S. Wisconsin St. for a report of a suicidal male. Upon further investigation, officers identified the male as 34-year-old, Anthony P. Hansen, of Whitewater, and determined that Hansen had been in an ongoing sexual relationship with a minor. It was also found that Hansen was an employee of the Whitewater Unified School District (WUSD). The police department is working closely with the school district as the investigation continues. A charge of Sexual Assault of a Child by a School Staff Person has been forwarded to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office. Additional charges may be forwarded pending results of the investigation.
