Whitewater Police Department Names Dan Meyer as Chief of Police

According to an update from the Whitewater Police Department, Dan Meyer has officially been selected as the new Chief of Police. Meyer graduated Summa Cum Laude from UW-Platteville in 2009 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, minoring in Psychology and Spanish. He is also a graduate of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy. Most recently, Meyer earned his M.S. in 2019 from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in Public Administration with a Criminology and Criminal Justice Specialization. Meyer served the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for eight years and was honorably discharged in 2020. He has been with the Whitewater Police Department since January of 2010 as a Patrol Officer, followed by Detective, Detective Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, Captain and Deputy Chief. Meyer has been serving Whitewater as Interim Chief of Police since December 2021.
