Last night at the Watertown Common Council meeting, they approved a resolution to enter into a Financial Assistance Agreement between the City of Watertown and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the 2022 private lead service line replacement project. The City of Watertown wishes to undertake the project to replace private lead service lines at residences, pre k-12 grade schools, and licensed and/or certified daycare centers. The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program has determined that they can provide a loan with principal forgiveness in an amount up to $2,500,000 for Watertown.
