According to a Walworth County Sheriff’s Office press release, they arrested 39 year old Christopher Reid Tresik from Kenosha on Wednesday. The arrest came after they received a report at about 8:30 p.m. of a reckless driver on US Highway 14 at County Highway O in the Town of Walworth. The caller reported that he was following her and flashing his high beams in an attempt to get her to drive faster. She also states that she pulled over many times and the suspect vehicle would not pass her. A sheriff’s deputy located the suspect vehicle on US Highway 14 near Six Corners Road, and initiated a traffic stop. The officer noted that Tresik had bloodshot, glassy eyes, and he was slurring his words. There was an additional passenger who was passed out and appeared to have vomited on himself in the vehicle with Tresik. The sheriff saw a case of beer between the passengers legs. After Tresik would not provide identification, the deputy returned to his patrol vehicle to request other deputies and a supervisor. Once they were there, they re-approached the vehicle in an attempt to reason with the driver, and a deputy saw a bag in the vehicle with a patch of a firearms manufacturer attached to it. At this point, deputies transitioned to a high risk traffic stop. Eventually, Tresik did exit the vehicle but did not comply with the deputies request to be safely taken into custody. Then the driver faced deputies and walked in their direction while bringing his hands to his side. The supervisor on the scene then utilized a 40mm less lethal weapon to resolve the threat that was presented. As deputies were handcuffing Tresik, they found a handgun in his waistband. Tresik was arrested and confined to the Walworth County Jail, and charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, armed while intoxicated, resisting/obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana were referred to the Walworth County District Attorney.
