According to an update from the Village of Mukwonago, Fred Schnook has been appointed as the next Village Administrator. Schnook earned his Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degrees in public administration, and is pursuing a PhD. in Urban Studies from UW Milwaukee. Schnook served most recently as City Administrator in Kewaunee, Wisconsin since 2017 where his efforts helped eliminate the city’s substantial negative fund balance and turned it to a positive fund balance for the first time in ten years. In 2002, he served as Mayor of the City of Ashland, Wisconsin, where he won international recognition for his efforts at developing the nation’s first Regional Sustainability Plan and having his city designated as the second eco-municipality in the nation. His efforts in Ashland resulted in more than $16 million of municipal funding assistance in a four-year period.
