In an update from the City of Jefferson, they are informing the public that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is conducting a public meeting to discuss the reconstruction of the South Main Street Bridge over the Rock River in Jefferson County. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5 from 5-6 p.m. at the City of Jefferson City Hall - Council Chambers. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the proposed improvements, and the impacts during construction.
Work is expected to commence on October 17 and will last until the summer of 2023. During construction, South Main Street will be closed at the location of the project. Detours will be set up to accommodate traffic during the closure. Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Craig Hardy (608-246-5406) or craig.hardy@dot.wi.gov at least three working days prior to the meeting.
