According to an update from the City of Watertown WI Government, the plaza at 1 E. Main St. will be demolished, beginning in early November. In total, this project includes demolition and stabilization of the plaza space and eight of the eleven metal bin seawalls immediately south of the plaza. After the demolition, the contractor will place riprap along the riverbank to stabilize the area and prevent erosion. During the project, the contractor may need to use the southern parking lane and eastbound traffic lane on E. Main St. as a workspace. Traffic will de diverted to the northern parking lane and westbound traffic lane of E. Main St. when the contractor is staged on E. Main St. The Contractor will also be occupying the city parking lot at 112 South First Street during the project. The demolition and stabilization will be complete by December 17th.
