Two Burlington Teens Sustain Life Threatening Injuries After Friday Accident

According to an update from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday shortly before 10 p.m. deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the 8600 block of Fish Hatchery Rd. in the Town of Burlington. Initial reports indicated the car swerved off the roadway, struck two trees, and was fully engulfed in flames. Upon deputies arrival, both occupants had been removed from the vehicle. The operator was a 16 year old male and the passenger was a 15 year old male; both from the City of Burlington. They were both conscious but sustained life-threatening injuries. The operator was taken by Flight for Life to a hospital in Milwaukee, and the passenger was taken by rescue squad to a local medical center in Burlington and then by Flight for Life to the hospital in Milwaukee. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the accident, and the accident is still under investigation.
