Stateline Area Transportation Study and City of Beloit Conducting Corridor Study of WIS81

According to an update from the City of Beloit, the Stateline Area Transportation Study (SLATS) and the City of Beloit are conducting a corridor study of Wisconsin Highway 81 (WIS 81). This study extends from WIS 213 (Madison Road) to Milwaukee Road and includes portions of Liberty Avenue, Fourth Street, Portland Avenue and White Avenue. The study will evaluate traffic operations, traffic safety, and recommend solutions to address current and anticipated corridor deficiencies. There is no construction project associated with this study or its recommendations at this time, although separately from this study, improvements are being planned for the Liberty Avenue/Madison Road intersection by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation

There is a Public Information Meeting on September 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to provide an overview of the corridor study, focusing on the WIS 81 corridor west of the Rock River. A separate meeting is scheduled for September 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 at the Beloit Public Library that will focus on the corridor east of the Rock River.
