Slow No Wake Zone For Portions Of Rock River On Fourth Of July

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office has put a no wake zone in place for parts of the Rock River this weekend. After consulting with the City of Janesville, the slow no wake zone will be in place from West Highway 14 Bridge to the W. Centerway St. Dam on July 4 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight.This due to the large number of boats that traverse this area causing what the sheriff’s office says causes “chaotic and dangerous” conditions. There will be patrol boats on the river and signs will be posted in this area.
