Rock County Sheriff's Office Responds to July 4 Crash Involving 3 Injured

According to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office press release, yesterday at about 11:15 a.m. deputies from the sheriff’s office and Evansville Police Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of N. State Trunk Highway 213 at N. County Trunk Highway M in the Town of Magnolia. Fire and Medical personnel from Evansville, Footville, and Janesville also assisted at the scene. The investigation shows a black, 2015 Chevy Cruze, driven by a 70-year-old Evansville man, was southbound on N. County Trunk Highway M when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign. The Cruze entered the intersection and struck a southbound red, 2018 Kia Forte, occupied by a 19-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, both of Janesville. Both men were transported via ambulance to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville while the woman was taken to St. Mary’s in Janesville. The 70-year-old man was admitted with a serious head injury but listed in stable condition at the time of the release. He will be cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Failure to Fasten Seatbelt. The young adults in the Kia were expected to be treated and released with minor injuries. This incident is still under investigation.
