According to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, yesterday at about 10 a.m. the 911 Communications Center received a request for a welfare check in the 5100 block of N. Buckskin Dr. in the Town of Harmony. Patrol Bureau personnel responded to this residence and arrived at 10:53 a.m. to check the welfare of a male subject. At 11:12 a.m., the male subject exited the residence to let a dog outside. Deputies had verbal contact with the male subject, and he retreated into the residence. The male subject was last seen at 11:14 a.m. at a window.
Investigation showed that the male subject was likely involved in a domestic at this address on the evening of October 9, 2022. The male subject had reportedly threatened and battered a female, who had since left the residence. It was reported that the male subject was known to be in possession of multiple firearms.
At 1:16 p.m., the Rock County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiations Team activated. After several hours of attempting to contact the subject, SWAT operators eventually made entry into the residence and started clearing at 7:28 p.m. At 7:35 p.m., SWAT operators located the subject deceased. The Detective Bureau responded to the scene to take over the investigation. This incident remains under investigation, and further information will be released as warranted. The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased subject.
