A Rock County couple has donated 75 acres of land to a local school district. According to the Beloit Daily News, Norman and Carol Aulabaugh donated the land to the Parkview School district. The property has been placed under a conservation easement, which means that it will remain a prairie conservation property forever. Of the 75 acres, 10 are woodlands, while the rest is cropland. Restoration began in 2019, and is scheduled to be completed next year. The school district says they plan to use the land as an outdoor learning laboratory for science courses, as well as for physical education and arts courses and for recreational activities.
