According to a press release, Representative Sue Conley (D-Janesville) was recommended by Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) to serve on Governor Evers’ Council on Domestic Abuse. The Council consists of 13 members appointed for staggered three-year terms and advises the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the legislature on matters of domestic abuse policy and funding. The Council also serves as a resource for Wisconsinites on domestic abuse issues. The Governor’s Council on Domestic Abuse was created in the Department of Health and Social Services, now the Department of Children and Families, by statutory mandate in 1979 (Wis. Stats. 15.21 sec. 16).
