Racine County Hit-And-Run

The man who caused a hit-and-run in the Town of Burlington in Racine County has been found thanks to tips that were called-in to the Sheriff's Office. 42-year-old Bob Daniel Slominski has been taken into custody.

On March 21st at 11:41AM, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hit and run, injury accident involving a We Energies flagger. The victim was transported via Flight for Life with significant injuries. Witnesses described the vehicle as a white Chevrolet Pickup Truck. Broken parts from the vehicle were found at the scene and posted to social media. Later the sheriff’s department posted video footage online of the vehicle with damage.


On Wednesday (March 22nd) at approximately 4:30PM, the Racine County Sheriff’s office received multiple tips that lead to the residence of Slominski. Upon arrival, Slominski exited his residence and confessed to striking the We Energies flagger. Slominski’s Chevy Silverado was found in the back of the residence with a tarp over it. Slominski advised officers that he was enroute to an AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) meeting at the time of the accident and that he “panicked” and fled the scene. Slominksi was taken into custody and transported to the Racine County Jail and the following charges were submitted to the Racine County District Attorney’s Office:

  • Felony Hit-and Run Causing Injury

  • Negligent Operation Causing Great Bodily Harm

Slominski is being held on $30,000 bond. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the numerous citizens who came forward with tips, ultimately leading to Slominski’s arrest.
