Plane That Crashed In Janesville Originated In Appleton; Had Engine Trouble

New information has been released on the plane crash that killed two people near Janesville on Tuesday. The NTSB, who is now leading the investigation, reports the Velocity V-Twin twin engined propellor plane was bound for Florida from Appleton, and stopped in Janesville for fuel. The plane reported an engine problem after takeoff and intended to return to the airport. The plane crashed a few seconds later. The NTSB spokesperson says the on-site portion of the investigation has concluded, and the aircraft was expected to be removed on Thursday, which is when the NTSB will return to the scene. The preliminary report will be released in as soon as two weeks, but it could take 12 to 24 months for the entire investigation to be completed.
