According to a press release from Walworth County, the no-mow pollinator program along County roadways is entering its third year. This program promotes pollinator health by allowing grass and native plants to flourish along select County roadways. The program covers 20 miles of county roads, or 10 percent of all county right of ways. Signs along the roadways indicate their no-mow status. June 20 to 26 is National Pollinator Week, which is an opportunity to raise awareness of pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. During National Pollinator Week, Geneva Lake Conservancy staff will be planting additional pollinator-friendly flowers and plants and removing invasive species along the no-mow stretches of county roadway.
