Lifesaving Awards Presented to Watertown Paramedics

According to an update from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday night Lifesaving awards were given to four citizens including Patty Foslid, Michelle Katsma, Scott Zoller, and Christine Buchanan for saving the life of Jon Helbing. Helbing was unresponsive and not breathing in his vehicle, and the four individuals were able to get Helbing out of the vehicle and were able to begin lifesaving measures. Dispatchers Vanesssa Schaefer, Holly Buchda, and Vicki Lessard, who received the 911 call were given letters of commendation.


Lieutenant Brian Loos received a lifesaving award, as he was the first law enforcement officer who arrived on scene, administering four AED shocks to Jon Helbing. Chris Abel, John Hasse, Gary Shipshock, Nicholas Sweeney, and George Anetsberger from Clyman-Lowell Reeseville Fire and Rescue received lifesaving awards. Three members of Juneau EMS, Daniel Zank, Steve Kitsemble, and Michelle Jaeger received lifesaving awards. Watertown Paramedics Brandon Wojnowski and Matthew Winchester received lifesaving awards. The Flight for Life Crew, Katy Norgel (Nurse), Rob Zoladz (Medic), and Tim (Pilot), also received lifesaving awards.
