Lakeshores Library System and Arrowhead Library System Explore Merger

According to an update from the Lakeshores Library System, they along with the Arrowhead Library System are exploring a merger of the two systems. The Arrowhead Library system currently serves the Rock County area, while the Lakeshores Library System currently serves the Walworth and Racine County area. In August of 2021, the Boards of Trustees of the Arrowhead and Lakeshores Library Systems each voted to embark on a journey to determine if the two library systems should merge, thus forming a new regional library system that would serve the counties of Racine, Rock, and Walworth. On Monday, June 26, the eight member ALS/LLS Joint Merger Exploration Committee voted, 7-1, to recommend system merger.
