Lake Geneva Police Respond to Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle

According to an update from the Lake Geneva Police Department, this morning at about 7:30 a.m. officers responded to the 1200 block of Williams Street for a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers observed one victim, an 81 year old male from Lake Geneva, who had been struck by a vehicle. Responding officers and EMS personnel attempted life saving measures which were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the striking vehicle, a 75 year old Town of Geneva resident, is fully cooperating. Upon initial investigation, the victim appeared to have been crossing in a southeast direction in the 1200 block of Williams Street to the north of Milwaukee Avenue when he was struck. The operator of the vehicle was traveling in the northbound lane of traffic on Williams Street. At this time, alcohol/drugs and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. The name of the victim will not be released until all family has been notified. The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting the crash reconstruction, and no further information will be released until that investigation has concluded.
