According to an update from the Janesville Police Department, on Saturday at 12:50 p.m. Officer Cronin made a traffic stop in the area of Delavan Dr. and Jackson St. for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 48 year old Lake Geneva resident Steven Rowe, and the officer suspected he was in possession of contraband. Rowe consented to being searched and a handgun was located in his coat pocket. A records check indicated Rowe to be a convicted felon and disqualified from possessing firearms. He was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony bail jumping. He is currently being held at the Rock County Jail pending his court appearance. Passenger 24 year old Janesville resident Timothy Tustin, was discovered to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and was charged as such.
