Joe Szwec Promoted to Captain; Two other Officers Sworn in at Jefferson City Council Meeting

According to an update from the Jefferson WI Police Department, Captain Joe Szwec was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain at the recent City Council meeting. Captain Szwec has been a lifelong citizen of Jefferson, and has been with the Jefferson Police Department since 2000. Two new officers were also sworn in at the meeting; Aaron Harring-Spoerl and Matt Kowalski will start the police academy at Blackhawk Tech next week before entering field training in December. Aaron is a member of the National Guard and grew up in the Stoughton area. Matt, most recently, comes from the Edgerton area where his father is the Chief of Police.
