Jefferson County Sheriff Responds to Vehicle Accident with Fatality

According to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, yesterday at about 5 p.m. deputies responded to a vehicle versus UTV crash on State Trunk Highway 89 and Lenius Rd. in the Town of Waterloo. Preliminary investigation at the scene shows that the vehicle had two occupants and was northbound on State Trunk Highway 89. The UTV also had two occupants and was westbound on Lenius Rd. The UTV and vehicle contacted each other at the intersection. One occupant of the UTV was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other occupant was transported by Med Flight with critical injuries. Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to local hospitals with injuries. More information on this story will be given if it becomes available.
