A motorcycle rider has died as the result of a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.
According to a press release, Sheriff’s Deputies responded last night (4/12) at 6:25PM to State Highway 106 at Mehring Road in the Town of Sullivan. An investigation revealed that a driver of a vehicle was traveling northbound on Mehring road and came to the stop sign at State Highway 106. The driver then pulled out onto the highway to go westbound. A motorcycle was traveling eastbound on State Highway 106 and collided with the vehicle as it pulled out on to the highway. Both the driver of the vehicle and motorcycle rider were lone occupant and operator. The driver of vehicle had minor injuries. The operator of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries and unfortunately succumbed to those injuries at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
