According to an update from the City of Janesville, on Monday, October 10, the Janesville Transit System (JTS) Transfer Center Renovation Project will transition to its second phase, requiring transit operations along the platform to move from the facility's east side to the west side. During this construction phase, the buses temporarily parked along River Street for passenger boarding and alighting will continue using River Street.
The renovation project, which began earlier this year, will bring significant improvements to the Transfer Center, including:
Adjustments along the concrete platform for ADA accessibility
Construction of additional public restrooms
Major facility component replacement (HVAC, plumbing, concrete paving)
Refurbishment of the public lobby, restrooms, and dispatch room
Improved vandal-resistance
Roof replacement
