Janesville Police Arrest Suspect Connected to String of Burglaries

In an update from the Janesville Police Department, they have shared more information regarding the recent string of burglaries. Since March 18, there have been 12 reports of burglaries that were determined to be related. The suspect, who has been identified as 37 year old Joseph Olson, used a similar point of entry to gain access. Yesterday at about 1:10 a.m. officers responded to a burglary at a business on Center Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered forced entry to the building and a disturbed cash register. Officers were able to meet with a representative of the victimized business. The suspects physical and clothing description were quickly obtained and provided to other officers. Later at 2:45 a.m. officers found the suspect, Joseph Olson, possessing stolen property from the building and also narcotics. Olson was arrested and brought to the police department. He was taken to the Rock County Jail where he will be held for an initial appearance.
