Janesville Man Sentenced

A Janesville man has been sentenced for secretly recording a teenager and her mother. In a Beloit Daily News report, 71 year old Jack D Fleming reached an agreement to plead no contest to two counts of disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse, and one count of invading privacy by using a surveillance device. In addition, Fleming pleaded guilty to a felony charge of invading the privacy of someone younger than 18, but that conviction will remain held open if Fleming completes three years of probation, which includes 4 months in jail and a work release.

Fleming also has to complete sex offender treatment, per the judge. Fleming had iPhone chargers with cameras in them, and on March 9 the girl and her mother involved in the situation took the matter to police. Fleming apologized on Tuesday for his actions, but the girl and her mother remain frustrated, saying that their claims weren't properly investigated and that the punishment levied is "insulting".
