Janesville Man Facing Charges After Traffic Stop in Winnebago County, Illinois

According to a press release from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, on January 15 at about 1:40 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of IL 251 and Prairie Hill Road. The driver was identified as 21 year old Tyrese A. Wortham from Janesville. During the traffic stop, deputies observed an open alcohol container inside the vehicle and a loaded .40 caliber handgun under the driver's seat. Wortham was ultimately charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, failure to reduce speed, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
