Janesville Fire Fighters Local 580 Responds to Apartment Fire

According to an update from Janesville Fire Fighters Local 580, Janesville Engines 812, 813, 815, Tower 831, Ambulances 841, 842, 843, Battalion 8 and Town of Beloit Engine 211 were dispatched in the city of Janesville for a potential residential fire yesterday at about 2:30 p.m.


Engine 813 arrived on scene first and found smoke coming from the roof of the apartment building. E813 and A843 pulled an attack line and found the fire in one of the second story apartments. While fire attack was being conducted, additional crews set up water supply, placed ground ladders on the building for possible extrication, forced doors, and began search and rescue operations. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews began overhaul operations and searched for any fire extension. No injuries were reported. There is no cause or damage estimate available at this time.
