Janesville Fire Department Responds to Residential Fire

According to a press release from the Janesville Fire Department, yesterday at about 10:45 p.m. they responded to a residential fire in an attic on Milton Ave. On arrival, all occupants were reported to be out of the structure and uninjured. JFD Units reported light smoke on the 2nd floor of the two story single family residence. The JFD opened up the ceiling to reveal a small fire in the attic. The small fire was quickly extinguished and investigated. The fire did not extend to any other areas of the structure. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the residence, which includes two adults and two children. No injuries were reported at the scene and the fire is currently under investigation. Damages are estimated to be about $12 thousand.
