The City of Janesville has announced that Interim Fire Chief Jim Ponkauskas has been promoted to the Fire Chief position. The lifelong Rock County resident who grew up spending time at the Orfordville Fire Department has been with Janesville Fire since 1994 and has served in a variety of roles.
Ponkauskas has been serving as Interim Fire Chief for a little over a month, announced into that role on August 18.
