The Janesville Police Department has released their 2021 Crime Summary Report. In 2021, there was a 6% increase from 2020 in overall documented officer activity. Police activities are beginning to trend back to normal, pre-Covid levels. Traffic stops increased 24%, Follow-Ups increased 9%, Special Assignments increased 39%, Welfare Checks increased 9%, and Warrant Service increased 43%. These increases are offset by decreases in Thefts, State Offenses, and Suspicious Activity. See the full report below:
