Identity Released of Elkhorn Man Who Died in Sunday Traffic Accident in Dane County

In a press release from the Dane County Medical Examiner, they have released the name of the individual who died in a traffic crash on August 21 at about 9:50 a.m. on interstate 90 eastbound near U.S. Highway 51 southbound in the Town of Burke. The individual was identified as 59 year old Elkhorn resident Paul H. Nielsen. Nielsen was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. A forensic examination was completed at the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office on August 22. Preliminary results of the examination confirm that Nielsen’s death was the result of injuries sustained in the crash, but additional testing is underway at this time. This death remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
