According to an update from the School District of Janesville, members of the Ice Age Trail Alliance spent yesterday morning installing a new stone staircase off of the main trail at the Janesville Schools Outdoor Laboratory. The group hopes to wrap up the project Monday, Aug. 1. A series of 12 stones weighing well over 200 pounds each are being set in place to provide visitors a safer, more decorative option when accessing some of the trails that connect to the arterial pathway.
