We are learning more information on a fire that occurred in Fort Atkinson yesterday. According to the FAFD, fire crews responded to Chippewa Ct just before 10:30 AM for a reported house fire. Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes, and requested a mutual aid box that brought nine neighboring departments to the scene. These departments provided overhaul and coverage for Fort Atkinson during the call. Firefighters performed an aggressive exterior attack before switching to an interior attack. The fire department says the fire appears to have been caused by an electrical failure, which started on the outside of the home and then spread inside. There is significant damage to the residence.
