Gunshots Fired This Morning in Jefferson County

According to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, this morning at about 12:15 a.m. deputies responded to a 911 call of gunshots fired in a residence in the Town of Sumner. Upon arriving on scene, responding deputies observed an individual walking away from the residence who matched the description of the suspect. The individual was taken into custody, and the death has been confirmed to be a result of foul play. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is actively working a Death Investigation scene. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Wisconsin State Patrol, Edgerton PD/EMS and the Jefferson County Medical Examiner. The Sheriff's Office says that there is no threat to the public with regards to this case. More information on this story will be given as it becomes available.
