Fundraiser for Destroyed Barn Exceeds Expectations

More than $26,000 has been raised for a barn that was destroyed in a fire outside of Burlington. The fire, which occurred on January 12th in Rochester, is still under investigation. According to the Lake Geneva Regional News, the barn was built in 1907 and is a total loss. The initial fundraising goal was $5000, but it surpassed $26000 yesterday. The family who runs the apple orchard that was located in the barn is hopeful to resume sales in the fall. The fire brought 20 fire departments to the scene just before 9:15 AM on January 12th. The owners do not yet know the estimated loss from the fire.
