According to a press release from the Green County Sheriff's Office, on October 3 at about 4:15 a.m. deputies responded to the N4400 block of State Trunk Highway 104 in the Town of Decatur for a two vehicle crash. During the investigation it was learned a vehicle driven by 64 year old Evansville resident, Connie M. Burhans, was traveling southbound on State Trunk Highway 104 and a farm tractor pulling a piece of farm implement operated by 35 year old Brodhead resident, Titus W. Near, was traveling northbound on State Trunk Highway 104. Burhans' vehicle collided with the farm implement. Burhans sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Monroe. She was wearing a seatbelt and the airbag deployed. Near was not wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Burhans' vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Near was able to remove the farm implement from the scene. The Brodhead EMS and Fire Department assisted at the scene.
