Drop Box Removed at Milton City Hall

According to an update from the City of Milton, The drop box at City Hall will be removed from June 23 through August 9. The decision to temporarily remove the drop box was based on a court decision earlier in 2022 regarding drop boxes in the Teigen v. Wisconsin Elections Commission case. The City Hall drop box did not comply with the requirements for a staffed drop box to be used to receive absentee ballots. In order to avoid any confusion, the drop box will be removed from June 23 through August 9. Absentee ballots for the Partisan Primary Election on August 9 will begin going out in the mail on June 23. In person absentee voting will start on July 26. Absentee ballots must be returned via regular mail or in-person at City Hall by the person who requested the absentee ballot. Municipal Court payments can be placed in a black, wall-mounted drop box located in the lobby of the Police Department/Municipal Court building, 690 S. Janesville Street. Utility Bill and other payments can be placed in a blue drop box at the Public Works Facility, 150 Northside Drive. If you have any questions, please contact City Clerk Jenny Salvo at (608) 868-6900 ext. 2.
