COVID 19 Update

Pier 290 restaurant in Lake Geneva has become the area’s third restaurant to close over the last week after an employee contracted COVID 19. The restaurant said it will be closing for 48 hours because three employees have tested positive after all three had been together for an off site social gathering. Pier 290 follows the Popeye’s in Lake Geneva and Chuck’s Lakeshore Inn in Fontana and the county health director said that restaurant workers could pose a bigger risk of exposure to coworkers than to customers because of close contact. Pier 290 said more information will be gathered and they will deep clean the facility before reopening.

The percentage of positive COVID 19 tests stayed above 4% with 495 new cases reported on Thursday according to the DHS. Ten more people died due to complications from COVID 19 bringing the state total 767 with 20,557 or 81% having recovered from the virus. Rock County reported 4 new cases with no deaths, Jefferson County reported 7 new cases with no deaths and Walworth County reported 22 new positive cases with no new deaths.
