COVID 19 Update

Gove Evers announced last week a 25 million Wisconsin Rental Assistance Program which will be administered by the Department of Administration and will provide financial assistance for rent, security deposits and wrap around services for eligible households who experienced income loss during the pandemic. The DOA will partner with local community action agencies to accept applications from interested residents and distribute rental assistance. 362 new cases of COVID 19 were reported by the DHS on Monday which is 4.1% of cases coming back positive which is down from the weekend. More than 7 thousand people were tested since Sunday afternoon and the total number of confirmed cases is now at 15,662, out of those cases about 59% or 9,207 have recovered from the virus and 2,339 need to be hospitalized. Four more people died on Monday due to complications of COVID 19 bringing death total to 514. Jefferson county reported 84 total positive cases, Walworth County reported 351 total cases and Rock County reported 569 total cases. And finally Dane county is entering Phase 1 of it’s reopening plan Tuesday a day after 14 new cases were reported bringing the total to 615 positive cases.
