City of South Beloit Hosting Open House to Discuss Traffic Study of the Illinois Route 75 Corridor

According to an update from the City of South Beloit, they are hosting an open house on August 31 at 4:30 p.m. at 306 Dickop Street in South Beloit. The open house is being held due to a traffic study of the Illinois Route 75 (Gardner Street) corridor being conducted by the Stateline Area Transportation Study (SLATS MPO) and the City of South Beloit. This study, which extends from Illinois Route 2 (Blackhawk Boulevard) to the Illinois-Wisconsin state line, will evaluate traffic operations, traffic safety, access, and multimodal accommodations along the roadway and recommend solutions that will address current and anticipated corridor deficiencies. While this project will evaluate existing features such as roadway and intersection geometrics, there is no construction project associated with this study, or its recommendations, at this time. Residents are encouraged to attend and offer feedback. For more information, contact Sonya Hoppes at s.hoppes@southbeloit.org.
