City of Jefferson Shares Construction Update

According to an update from the City of Jefferson, S. Dewey Ave. will be closed for a portion of the day today north of Pond View Court as utility crossing work is completed for the extension of water laterals and sewer main. Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be completing an inspection of the S. Main Street bridge from approximately noon to 3 p.m. today. During this time, flaggers will be onsite as traffic will be down to one lane.

The downtown streetscape project is expected to be substantially completed by late August or the first week in September. Some work will remain to be completed in the terraces but the city expects to have traffic back to normal before Labor Day. The City has not been provided a firm start date for the S. Main Street bridge closure, but will provide that information as soon as it is provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
