According to an update from the City of Jefferson, they have been notified by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation that the contract for reconstruction of the South Main Street bridge has been awarded. Final details have not been provided at this time to the City, but tentative construction will begin in early September and continue through July of 2023. This is a full replacement of the bridge structure. Over the planned ten month construction schedule, Riverview Drive will also be closed at Main Street and traffic will be detoured to the Highway 26 bypass and local traffic will be detoured to Collins Road and Wisconsin Drive.
