According to a press release, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin has announced that the The City of Beloit will receive $13,476,269 to make safety improvements; including a new bridge on Willowbrook Road, reconstruction of Willowbrook Road, reconstruction of Colley Road, multilane roundabouts at three intersections, and railroad crossing improvements.
More specifically, the project will include:
Reconstructing Willowbrook Road from Milwaukee Road to the state line with bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. This will include the construction of a new bridge and an upgraded railroad crossing.
Reconstructing Colley Road to Gateway Boulevard with bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
Installing a traffic signal at Milwaukee Road and Willowbrook Road.
Improving intersections near the development project.
Money for this project is coming from RAISE Grant Funding. The RAISE Discretionary Grant program invests in road, rail, transit, and port projects that promise to achieve national objectives. The program was formerly known as the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) and Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grants.
