The City of Beloit has announced the selection of Drew Pennington as Interim Economic Development Director and Interim President/CEO of the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation (GBEDC) effective as of yesterday. According to the City of Beloit, Pennington joined the City's Planning Division in December 2007 and was promoted to Director of Planning and Building Services in 2012. His work includes long-range planning for the development and redevelopment of Beloit, which has given him the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders. The City of Beloit and Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation will coordinate to recruit the region’s next economic development leader.
