According to an update from the City of Janesville, beginning on Monday, April 18 portions of Black Bridge Rd. will close for reconstruction that is planned for segments of the road from the Milton Ave. intersection to about 250 feet west of Mayfair Dr. The road will be reconstructed in two phases and will be closed to through traffic within each phase. A signed detour will be provided during both phases using Milton Ave., E. Memorial Dr., and N. Parker Dr. Local access to the businesses and private properties that are located within the construction zone will be maintained. Emergency response services will also be maintained.
Reconstruction activities will include replacing the existing water main, replacing intermittent curb and gutter, public sidewalk repairs and accessible ramp replacements, storm inlet repairs, and asphalt pavement reconstruction. The project will also include the addition of designated left-turn lanes on Black Bridge Rd. at the intersection with Alden Rd. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in about two months.
The anticipated start date for phase two of the project is Thursday, June 16. Phase two will be west of Alden Rd. to approximately 350 feet west of Mayfair Dr. More information on this story will be given as it is made available.
