Beloit Township Fire Department Responds to Hay Baler on Fire

According to an update from the Beloit Township Fire Department, yesterday at about 5:30 p.m. they along with the City of Beloit, Orfordville, and Turtle Fire Departments responded to the 3700 block of S. Duggan Road for a hay baler on fire in a field. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a tractor until another crew could assist in extinguishing the baler. The baler, valued at $80 thousand was a total loss. The tractor did sustain about $20 thousand worth of damage. No injuries were reported.
